Understanding the Significance of Pain Associated With Depression

Dr Schatzberg, Junior Professor and Chair of the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University, discusses the significance of pain as associated with depression. He asserts that up to 70% of patients presenting with depression have pain as their chief complaint, and that the more physical symptoms a patient has, the more likely it is they have a mood disorder.
